My name is Calvin Waln Jr., also known as Hawkeye Waln. I'm an enrolled Tribal Member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in Rosebud, South Dakota. I have created The War Party Room to exercise my Constitutional Right of Freedom of Speech and Expression in relation to issues plaguing Native Americans. I'm an advocate for Native American Civil Rights and local Tribal Government Accountability. With The War Party Room, I plan to share facts and my opinion on a wide verity of Native American topics.
I understand the topics I choose to write about will be controversial and draw criticism towards me. I expect criticism as I welcome it. I also would like feedback on the issue I write about. These issues are real and what Native Americans face on a daily basis. I will expose how Native American Civil Rights are violated by Federal, State, and Tribal Governments. I will explain how the historical mindset of kill the Indian (Native American) and save the man is still alive and well presently within the Federal and Tribal Governments.
Issues I will write about relate to Native American Treaties, Judicial, Native American Healthcare, Trust Land, and most importantly our Civil Rights. I will write and provide facts that Native Americans have a blanket if Civil Rights protections, yet Native American Rights continue to be violated daily. Native Americans have the United States Constitutional Bill of Rights, Civil Rights Act, Indian Civil Rights Act, and Tribal Constitution and By-Laws protecting them.
I look forwards to sharing these real and tough issues that affect out way of life daily.
